This part of Laval is very car friendly. It is straightforward to park. On the other hand, the public transit network in this neighbourhood is fairly poor. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most properties. Saint-François is not very well-suited for those who travel by foot because common amenities such as post offices or banks can be an extended walk away.
Services
There are only a limited number of primary schools in Saint-François and therefore they can be a rather long walk away. In addition, this neighbourhood does not contain any high schools. Moreover, parents may consider it challenging for their schoolchildren to reach daycares as a pedestrian. Regarding food, some, but not all, home buyers in Saint-François will reside within walking distance of the closest supermarket. There are also a few opportunities for those who value close by restaurants and cafes.
Character
Saint-François is a very good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a slower-paced environment. The greenery in this part of Laval is quite prominent as the tree canopy coverage for a large number of streets is reasonably good. Access to parks is easy in the neighbourhood since there are about 10 of them nearby for residents to visit. This area is very quiet overall, as noise from streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue.
