Transportation
Driving is a great medium of transportation in this neighbourhood. Parking is quite easy, and the majority of properties for sale are a reasonably short drive from the nearest highway, such as Nanaimo Parkway. On the other hand, this neighbourhood is not very transit friendly. Thankfully, the neighbourhood is connected by a few bus lines, and bus stops are generally nearby. Walking is not very convenient for home buyers in this area as few common errands can be run on foot.
Services
Families will appreciate that no matter where their home is located in Five Acres, primary schools and daycares are nearby. On the other hand, parents and their children may consider it challenging to get to high schools on foot. In terms of eating, it is convenient to access the nearest supermarket by walking in Five Acres. Residents benefit from a few restaurants and coffee shops as well.
Character
The character of Five Acres is exemplified by its slower-paced atmosphere. The noise levels in this part of the city are low, as the streets are usually reasonably tranquil - although that is not the case near the railway line or Nanaimo Parkway. Lastly, accessing green spaces from most locations within the neighbourhood, including Colliery Dam Park and Harewood Centennial Park, is easy, since there are approximately 30 of them nearby for residents to relax in and a large number of properties have a park nearby.
