Transportation
Walking is quite practical for residents in this part of Kitchener; many day-to-day errands can be run on foot. However, Northward is not very bicycling-friendly because riding is made difficult by the typically steep terrain, and the cycling network is not very comprehensive. Driving is a great medium of transportation in Northward. Many properties for sale are a very short drive from the nearest highway, such as Highway 7, and it is especially convenient to park. However, the public transit service in this part of the city is somewhat poor. Nevertheless, there are a few bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and it is very convenient to reach a nearby bus stop from most houses.
Services
Families will appreciate the proximity to both primary and secondary schools, which are within walking distance from most properties for sale in Northward. In contrast, daycares are not particularly numerous and accordingly may require a rather long walk to get to. In terms of eating, it is frequently practical for property owners in this area to purchase their groceries on foot. Moreover, a restaurant is often just around the corner.
Character
Despite the somewhat busy feel, there are a lot of green spaces to enjoy in Northward. Green spaces, including Springwood Park, are especially well-distributed and there are a few of them close by for residents to explore, which makes it very easy to get to them from most locations within this part of the city. This neighbourhood remains relatively quiet, due to the presence of few pedestrians; however there can be higher levels of noise for those who are around the railway line or Highway 85.
