Transportation

The best method to get around in Richelieu is usually a car. The majority of real estate listings are a reasonably short car ride from the nearest highway, such as Autoroute des Cantons-de-l'Est, and it is especially convenient to park. On the other hand, commuting by public transit is very difficult in this part of the Greater Montreal metropolitan area. Nonetheless, there are a few bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is typically within walking distance. It is difficult for people travelling on foot to get around in Richelieu since very few daily errands can be run without the use of a car.

Services

Some, but not all, property owners in Richelieu will live within walking distance of the nearest grocery store. There are also around 10 restaurants and cafes in this part of the Greater Montreal metropolitan area. Regarding education, there are only a few primary schools in Richelieu and therefore they can be a rather long walk away. Furthermore, this city does not have any high schools. In addition, parents and their children may find it difficult to get to daycares on foot.

Character

Richelieu is quiet overall, as the streets are generally quite calm - however noise can be problematic closer to Autoroute des Cantons-de-l'Est. There is not that much greenery in this city, there are a few parks close by for residents to relax in.
