Ottawa is a city located in Ontario, Canada.


In Ottawa, about 40% of dwellings are single detached homes, while large apartment buildings, small apartment buildings, and townhouses are the main alternatives in the housing stock. Although a few enjoyable areas for cycling exist, it is also occasionally difficult to get around by bike in Ottawa since the bicycling infrastructure is sometimes poor, and there are a fair number of hills for cyclists to brave.


It can be challenging to walk to high schools and primary schools from homes for sale in Ottawa. Additionally, daycares are not very abundant and accordingly not always within walking distance. Apart from public schools, there are private elementary and high schools. With regards to eating, a fraction of residents in Ottawa may be able to do their groceries on foot in one of over 600 stores, while others will need a vehicle. Residents can enjoy over 3300 restaurants and coffee shops as well.


The noise levels in Ottawa are low, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - however some parts can be quite noisy, especially near Autoroute de la Gatineau, Highway 416, one of the 3 airports (YRP, YOW, YRO) or one of the railway lines. Parks are distributed sporadically, making them occasionally difficult to reach. Still, there are over 1000 green spaces nearby for residents to discover, like Beauclaire Park and South March Highlands Conservation Forest.
