Transportation
Cars are an excellent transportation option in Newcastle. It is especially convenient to find a place to park, and nearby highways, such as Highway 401, are very easy to access from anywhere in this area. On the other hand, travelling by public transit is very hard in this part of the municipality. Nevertheless, property owners benefit from a few bus lines, and the closest bus stop is generally within walking distance. This part of Clarington is not very convenient for walking since very few daily errands can be run without having to resort to a car.

There are only a limited number of primary schools in Newcastle and consequently they can be a long walk away. In addition, this neighbourhood does not have any high schools. Furthermore, there are only a few daycares and consequently they can be a long walk away. Regarding food, some property owners in Newcastle may be able to reach the closest supermarket on foot, while others will have to rely on a vehicle. A limited selection of restaurants and coffee shops is available as well.
Character
Newcastle is fairly good for those who prefer a quiet atmosphere, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic - however some areas can be quite loud, especially closer to Highway 401 or one of the railway lines.
