Professional Experience

I was born and raised in East-Germany, meaning my first language is Berlin German! Most of my family still lives in the area. I spent a lot of my childhood with my grandparents on a farm close to Berlin, which gave me a strong appreciation for animals, hard work, and a good sense of smell! Very early in my life, l developed an interest in design and construction. I spent evenings sketching variations of my dream home, with great enthusiasm, which l still feel today. My parents inherited an old house from my great grandparents which l helped restore, and this furthered my dream of becoming an architect, which as you see, did not materialize, but l did marry one. In secondary school, l loved English and Math. After graduating, l was conscripted into military service, where hard work and teamwork influenced my future in so many ways. I went on to study at Humboldt University, where Albert Einstein and Karl Marx once taught, to complete my education in Geography and Mathematics. My love of English took me to Britain to teach at a secondary school. In 2011, I completed my degree in teaching, and was hired at an inner-city school in Berlin which was one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of my life. My selling and negotiating skills were tested every day, as was my patience. I absolutely loved it. It was during this time, l met my future partner, a Canadian. We connected immediately, and in a relatively short time, made the decision that l would move to Canada. A decision I am grateful for everyday, despite and because of its challenges. Recently, we celebrated our ninth anniversary and welcomed two new family members into the fold. First came Gustav, a perfect Goldendoodle, our adorable lamb-in-dogs clothing. He had all our attention, until along came the love of our lives, our truly special son Alon, who has brought us joy beyond belief, along with sleepless nights.
