Town Centre

The neighbourhood of Town Centre can be found in the city of Coquitlam, British Columbia, which is situated in the Greater Vancouver metropolitan area.

Housing

About one third of homes in Town Centre were built after the year 2000, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1980s. In this area, around half of dwellings are small apartment buildings, but large apartment buildings are also present in the housing stock. Homeowners occupy about 60% of the units in Town Centre and the remainder are rented. This area is primarily composed of one bedroom and two bedroom homes.

Transportation

Town Centre enables home buyers to move around by several modes of transportation. The public transit network in this neighbourhood is practical. More specifically, rapid transit stations, such as Coquitlam Central Station, Lincoln Station and Lafarge Lake - Douglas Station on the Millennium Skytrain, are not very far away from the greater part of properties in the neighbourhood. The neighbourhood is connected by approximately 20 bus lines, and it is very convenient to find a nearby bus stop from most residences. Travelling on foot is also quite convenient for residents in this part of the city; meeting daily needs is easy by walking, and there are also a fair number of businesses in proximity. Town Centre is reasonably appropriate for cycling because there are numerous bike lanes.

Services

In this part of Coquitlam, families will generally be able to reach daycares and schools on foot. Parents can choose between public and private elementary schools. With regards to eating, property owners in Town Centre will welcome that a general and a specialty grocery store is always only a rather short walk away. Moreover, there are a fair number of opportunities for those who value nearby restaurants and cafes.

Character

The character of Town Centre is exemplified by its calm atmosphere. Public green spaces are very well-spread out and there are approximately 10 of them close by for residents to unwind in, which makes it very easy to access them from the majority of locations within the neighbourhood. This area is reasonably quiet overall, as noise from streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue.
