Property Information:

Former church, registered under the Heritage Property Act. This massive structure, completely made of wood, is the largest wooden church in North America. To build the church the architect Arthur Regnault of France was hired. The building was constructed over a two-year period from 1903 to 1905 with the hard work of 1500 members of the local area under the supervision of master carpenter Léo Melanson. The building towers over the village of Church Point, located in the beautiful St.Mary's Bay region of Nova Scotia.. The main altar, large chandelier, candelabrums and candlesticks were brought in from France. What appears to be marble columns are actually made of wood , the walls and ceilings are covered with a painted canvas, and the huge columns are tree trunks masked by plaster covered in wooden laths. Fifty two windows, many are stained glass. Three bronze bells were imported from France, the largest weighing almost 1,800 pounds. Includes a pipe organ that is still in working order. Bones of this structure appear to be good. The building is approximately 15,000 square feet based on outside measurement. There is 13,481,000 cubic feet of air inside. Please Note: Contents do not remain. Sold as is. PID pending as a section of PID 30035117 will be severed prior to closing, the proposed approximate square footage will be 73162.3 .HST over and above
