The neighbourhood of Southdale is located within the city of Winnipeg, Manitoba.


Around 85% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and 15% are renters. The housing stock of this part of the city is composed primarily of single detached homes and townhouses. About three quarters of the properties in this neighbourhood were built between 1960 and 1980, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1980s. This part of Winnipeg offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.


This area is especially car friendly. It is especially convenient to access a place to park, and many real estate listings are a very short drive from the closest highway. However, the public transit system in Southdale is not very practical. Nonetheless, there are a few bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and most residences are very close to a bus stop. This part of the city is not very well-suited for walking since most daily needs are inconvenient to carry out without the use of a car.


Both primary and secondary schools are convenient to reach on foot from most houses for sale in Southdale. In contrast, parents may consider it challenging for their schoolchildren to get to daycares as a pedestrian. When it comes to eating, accessing the nearest supermarket by walking is feasible for some, but not all, house buyers in this neighbourhood. There are also a few opportunities for those who care about nearby restaurants and cafes.


The character of Southdale is exemplified by its relaxed atmosphere. It is easy to get to parks in the neighbourhood since there are approximately 10 of them nearby for residents to unwind in. This neighbourhood is reasonably quiet overall, as the streets tend to be calm - however noise can be an issue around the railway line.
