North Slope

The neighbourhood of North Slope can be found in the city of Nanaimo, British Columbia.


The predominant housing types in North Slope are single detached homes and townhouses. Around 30% of properties in this part of Nanaimo were built after the year 2000, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Around 85% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home while the remainder are renters.


Driving is an excellent medium of transportation in this neighbourhood. It is very easy to access a place to park. On the other hand, the public transit service in North Slope is not very frequent. Thankfully, the neighbourhood is served by a few bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is typically close by. North Slope is not very conducive to those who travel by foot as running common errands is impractical by walking.


It is very rarely an option for home buyers in this part of the city to purchase groceries on foot. Concerning education, it is a rather short walk to access primary schools from any location in this area. However, there are no high schools in this part of the city.


The character of North Slope is exemplified by its relaxed environment. Public green spaces, including Sealand Park, are especially well-distributed and there are about 30 of them nearby for residents to discover, which makes it easy to get to them. The noise levels in this neighbourhood are also very low, as the streets are generally very peaceful.
