The neighbourhood of Avondale is situated within the city of Grande Prairie, Alberta.


Renters occupy around 60% of the properties in the neighbourhood and 40% are occupied by owners. In this neighbourhood, roughly 45% of dwellings are single detached homes, whereas the remainder are mainly small apartment buildings. About half of properties in this part of Grande Prairie were built between 1960 and 1980, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 2000s. The favoured approach to get around in Avondale is usually a car. Many properties for sale are a short car ride from the nearest highway, and it is straightforward to park. Avondale is not particularly well-suited for walking because few common errands can be run on foot.


It is straightforward to reach the closest grocery store on foot in this part of the city. Likewise, a restaurant is often just around the corner, and house buyers benefit from a few cafes as well. A decent choice of clothing stores is also available within a rather short walking distance. In terms of education, parents and their kids will welcome that no matter where their house is situated in this part of the city, schools and daycares are close by. Along with public schools, there are private elementary and high schools.


Most areas in Avondale are very quiet, as the streets tend to be very peaceful.
