Many of you know Jim as founder and former President of Positive People Placement Inc., a full-service employment agency operating throughout the Bow Valley. Previously Jim worked in the public service for many years as a Provincial Park Ranger, helping to establish their public safety capabilities. His educational background includes a BSc., BAdmin. and MEd. Jim figures one of his greatest assets is his considerable local area and business knowledge; being brought up in Calgary and a Canmoron for over 20 years. He still works the trails, having competed for many years in the Five Peaks Race Series, has ski patrolled at Sunshine for many years and worked summers as Counsellor at nearby Camp Chief Hector. His wife Cathy nurses here and they have five bambinos and foiur “great” great-bambinos. Jim served three terms on the Town’s Housing Advisory Committee and past Trustee of the Mountain Havens Housing Co-operative. As a member of the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation he contributes to the community by supporting shelter-related projects. As Board Secretary to Canmore’s Hearts and Hands Foundation he has twice been on stove-building trips to the highlands of Guatemala, improving Mayan childrens’ health. Jim has also served on Canmore Town Council for three terms.
